When wildfire threatened the Reno-Sparks area, the team at Cascades of the Sierra took proactive steps to protect its memory care residents, making the decision to evacuate before a mandatory order was issued. Their early planning and quick response allowed time to coordinate the move and prepare for continuity of care.

Arbors Memory Care, a Radiant Senior Living community, was able to open its doors to 15 Cascades residents. For two days, the teams worked together to provide a safe, familiar environment while maintaining residents’ routines, medications and care needs.

McKnight’s Senior Living recently featured the collaboration as an example of how strong relationships, preparation and communication between senior living communities can help support residents during an emergency.
